Hey guys, I've had an oil leak for quite some time now from the oil separator box. I'd like to take it off and replace the o-ring where the box sticks into the block. Anyone know what size the o-ring is? Thanks.

Hmmm... You might have to make a run to the dealer for that one.

I got one (little o-ring) with my "lower end rebuild kit"

It is about "yay" big... actually, I couldn't find one anywhere... I had to go to the dealer.

The good news is that if it is NOT torn or damaged in any way, you can re-use it. I found that rotating the top of the oil separator box helps line up the hole in the tap that the securing bolt passes through... then Viola'... no leak !!!

I tried to get the box off today but without success. In order to do it I'm going to have to pull the intake manifold...screw that! Jim, when you say rotate the box do you mean take out both bolts that hold the box to the block and then rotate the box a little? Since I wasn't able to deal with the box I went ahead and tackled the rear engine mount so that I could put the last ES motor mount bushing in. It wasn't that bad, about medium difficulty.

Sorry Fred... I posted late, and apparently, I wasn't thinking clearly. Your particular application HAS two bolts holding the oil seperator box to the block... a GSR only has one; so you can loosen the bolt and rotate the box on its axis point where the O-ring is.
I do not believe that you can actually perform this maneauver on yours...

    Sorry.
    Jim
